Roberts, Bill
Deceased.
Died September 29, 2007, a week after a motorcycle accident. He was traveling west on 136 Sunday evening (September 23) at 6:30.  At Girls School Road a 16-year-old boy pulled his S-10 right in front of Bill’s motorcycle. Bill was taken to Methodist Hospital and was talking with his family, although in much pain. It was while they had him in radiology that he flat lined and they then found that an artery had been cut during the accident and he had severe internal bleeding. Evidently he was without blood too long and suffered brain damage.
Bill was the Post Commander at American Legion Speedway Post 500.

I graduated from Indiana Central College now the University of Indianapolis in 1969 with a BS in Education.
Also in June 1969, I got married to Etta Gibbs from Crispus Attucks (class of 1966 and BA/MLS from IU). We celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary this year. God is good all of the time.
My first teaching job was at Drexel Gardens and Bridgeport Elementary Schools in Wayne Township, teaching PE (1969-71). I joined the Army from 1971 thru 1980. I was a Finance Officer, running offices in Massachusetts, Taiwan and Japan. I taught Finance and Accounting at the Finance School (Ft. Benjamin Harrison) until I got out in 1980. I worked in Indianapolis as a Business Administrator and Service Manager until I was Ordained and went to work for my church.
In 1993, my wife's job brought us to Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas. We are currently Dept of the Army Civilians. I supervise twenty mechanics in the Heating and Air Conditioning Shop at Ft. Leavenworth and Etta is the author of the Center for Army Lessons Learned Thesaurus at Ft Leavenworth. I own a part-time business called "Handy Husband" in Leavenworth, Kansas, where I am a Licensed Electrical and Plumbing Contractor.
I attend and volunteer at Lenexa Christian Center in Lenexa, Kansas where Mike Purkey is the Pastor of a twenty five hundred person church. God has blessed our family with good health and friends around the world.
We are motor-homers, enjoying camping whenever and wherever we can. I enjoy hunting and fishing, mostly just being outdoors.
We have no children but are blessed with many nieces and nephews, my wife is the oldest from a family of seven and I am number two of thirteen. We are looking forward to returning to Indy, once we retire. Thanks for all of the good work.

Russell Enterprises, Homebuilding (owner) Dan, thanks for spending some time getting to know my future wife Renee. As you may or may not know my previous wife of 25 years died April 18, 1993 from complications of diabetes. She had graduated from Howe HS in 65 and I met her at the Pole at 16th and Lafayette Road. She was with me at the 25th reunion, but I flew solo at the 30th.
Now I have a great chance at starting over with Renee Eha.
I still manage to eke out a living building things such as condos (Chuck and Janet Farnsley live in one of my creations) among other things such as office renovations at Park Fletcher near the airport.
I also DJ full time at 8 -Second Saloon (aka Lil' Bit of Texas; aka Lyndhurst Bowl). Wayne Garrison and his wife along with Rocky Kelly (son of Mr Kelly principle at Clermont Grade School) and his wife Nora dance there often.
I also write children's stories (available upon request.)
Thanx again for all you do.
